Blackjack is a classic casino table game. It is played with eight standard decks of 52 cards, without Jokers. Cards are shuffled at the start of each game.
In Blackjack, the objective is simple: beat the dealer's hand without exceeding a total of 21. Hands with value over 21 are automatically lost. The player is dealt two cards, face-up, while the dealer receives one face-up card and one face-down card. Numbered cards are worth their face value, face cards (Jacks, Queens and Kings) are worth 10, and Aces can be worth either 1 or 11, depending on the player's choice. Player has the following options:
If the player's total exceeds 21, they "bust" and lose the round. The dealer must hit until reaching a total of 17 or higher. The player's goal is to collect the total greater than the dealer's, without going over 21. If a hand collects 22 points or over, it is automatically "bust" and no longer plays.
Insurance - if the dealer is dealt an Ace, the player is offered an "Insurance" to ensure the player's hand against the dealer's Blackjack. If the dealer has the Blackjack, insurance will cost half of the player's initial bet and pay 2:1. If the dealer doesn't hit Blackjack, the player will lose the insurance bet and the game will continue with the initial bet amount.
Blackjack is a combination of cards with the total of 21 and is paid 3:2.
